Christie’s last appearance at the Straz was an album release show for STAY, her full-length studio album that yielded critical success, a music video supporting Suicide Prevention, and rapidly growing streams of her instrumentals on Spotify playlists.   Social Media started multiplying exponentially and word was out nationwide.

Christie then undertook her first tour of Australia, followed by a tour of Asia that included shows in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, 10 cities in mainland China, Seoul and Tokyo.   She returned home as a showcase artist at The Listening Room Festival in St Pete at the Palladium Theatre, then set out on a relentless touring schedule including shows with Tommy Emmanuel, several major festivals, television and radio appearances.

In September of 2017, Christie took home the 1st Place trophy at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in Winfield, Kansas and the Guitar world exploded with this news. This achievement resulted in a six page featured article in the prestigious Guitar Player Magazine, as well as features in Acoustic Guitar Magazine and Premier Guitar.  Instantly she became sought out world-wide and was invited as an Official Showcase Artist at Folk Alliance International and a number of large festivals including Copper Mountain Guitar Town, Copper Country, the Arkansas Folk Festival, Ouibache Festival, Walnut Valley Festival, and more coming up in 2019.

Christie’s introduction to entertainment came early in Tampa at the age of 4, when she was the youngest member of the renowned group “Entertainment Revue.”  She then fell in love with the guitar and worked diligently through high school and her years at USF to become arguably one of the top female guitarists in the world.

Tickets for the show on Sunday, November 18th are available at StrazCenter.Org. The concert will include a food drive collecting non perishable items, clothes, toys and hygiene products in partnership with Metropolitan Ministries to support families in need around the holidays. Audience members are encouraged to contribute and support the Tampa Bay Community!
