Share the Love

Well known for its Cool Craft Beverage Trail, downtown shopping and nearby Florida springs, DeLand is also emerging as a foodie destination. With more than 40 restaurants downtown, dining out in DeLand will not only provide you with endless food options to keep your belly full and mouth happy while exploring the area, but will also elevate your travel experience.

Choose from American, Mexican, Italian, Thai, and Greek, to name just a few. Chain restaurants? You won’t find them here. Nope, this town has one-of-a-kind spots where the meal is served with a side of hospitality. From Instgrammable gourmet dishes to comfort foods that bring back fond memories of childhood, dining out in DeLand is less about refueling and more about enjoying good eats. It’s a casual affair, where flip-flops meet foodie flair, making downtown DeLand a deliciously fun place to grab a bite.

Bake Chop

110 Artisan Alley

When your food love language is creative dishes of locally sourced ingredients made from scratch, then do not miss having a meal at Bake Chop in Artisan Alley. Here, you have the option of indoor and outdoor seating. Weather permitting, we suggest a table outside where your four-legged family member is welcome. The menu has small plates, bowls, salads, and handhelds. Try the fresh catch-of-the-day fish bowl. It’s outstanding. And, make sure to save room for their off-the-chain desserts.

Cress Restaurant

103 W Indiana Ave

Where global flavors meet local charm, Cress Restaurant’s menu feels like a trip around the world without having to leave DeLand. It’s fine dining at its finest. While the menu has regular “new additions” as you would expect from a farm-to-table restaurant, you certainly can’t go wrong ordering the fresh catch, tikka masala curry, or the leg of lamb. And do yourself a favor, order one of their decadent desserts with either coffee or wine. You’ll thank us later.

DeLand Eatery

442 E New York Ave

If you don’t know it’s there, you don’t know it’s there. Hidden in the back of The DeLand Hotel is the Deland Eatery, a true hidden gem. We suggest you get there an hour or so before your reservation to have a drink and one of their “Beginnings” in the speakeasy-themed cocktail bar. Try the Maryland jumbo lump crab cakes, they’re tasty and just enough for two. Are you a burger fan? If you’ve never had one, order the smash burger with fries for dinner. Simply delicious.

C’s Waffles DeLand

413 S Woodland Boulevard

Where good old comfort food meets a diner vibe, put C’s Waffles on your breakfast list. The menu has traditional dishes like eggs and pancakes, but do yourself a favor, stick to waffles, it’s what they’re known for. We recommend the classic Chicken and Waffles or The Waffle Stacker of two scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, with American cheese, stacked between a 1/2 waffle.

Boston Coffee House

109 E New York Avenue

Another place to put on your list for breakfast, or if you prefer, lunch, Boston Coffee House is where the spirit of Boston meets the heart of Florida. Voted “Best Coffeehouse in the State” by Florida Monthly Magazine, it serves up fresh fare, from pastries and baked goods to breakfast favorites and savory sandwiches. It’s a local favorite for a cup of joe, a quick bite, or a sweet treat in the afternoon.

DeLand Fish House

310 E International Speedway Boulevard

A true fish house run by a real fisherman, the DeLand Fish House is a seafood lover’s paradise. With no less than eight different fish from which to choose, along with daily specials, the menu has everything from shrimp and scallops to the classic fish and chips. Their homemade key lime cake is a must-try.

The Lounge

215 S Woodland Boulevard

You can find The Lounge in the Artisan Downtown Hotel.  It’s a trendy bar that’s a mix of art and culture, along with a neighborhood vibe.  With a focus on artful cocktails and a full tapas menu, you can enjoy specialty drinks and live music, from acoustic guitar to jazz depending on the night, all while sampling delicious bites. As they like to say, “it’s a feast for both your belly and your ears.”

Chica’s Cuban Cafe

215 S Woodland Blvd

Also located in the Artisan Hotel, Chica’s Cuban Cafe lives by the motto “Mi casa es su casa,” as everyone who walks through their doors is treated like family. With a bit of a Havana vibe, you can find all of your favorite Cuban dishes on their extensive menu. If you’ve never had a Cuban sandwich but would like to try one, this is the place. Order the traditional Cuban sandwich with a side of rice and black beans. You’ll be happy you did.

DeLand Bagel

218 N Woodland Boulevard

Get a taste of the “big city” at DeLand Bagel where freshly-baked bagels and sandwiches find their way to your plate. Enjoy a finger-licking good time as you chow down one of its delicious hot or cold sandwiches, made with traditional NYC ingredients like roast beef and turkey. We suggest you choose the rainbow bagel. While they taste just like plain bagels, everyone knows that everything is better with a rainbow.

Trilogy Coffee Co.

136 W Georgia Avenue

Starting from humble beginnings in a laundry room with a box fan for ventilation, Trilogy Coffee Co. has grown into a local breakfast spot located just a half-block from where it all began. While coffee is their thing, they also have a menu that includes breakfast sandwiches, fruit bowls, oatmeal, wraps, and more. Order at the counter, take a seat with your order number holder, and wait to be served.

The Table Restaurant

100 E New York Ave

Elegance meets casual dining in this Southern-inspired restaurant, where scratch-made dishes are always on the menu. We suggest the chicken pot pie, a mainstay of The Table Restaurant and one of their most popular. The restaurant is one of the largest in DeLand, and its “underground” setting makes a unique dining experience. Their cocktail lounge is a great spot for hand-crafted drinks and live music.

Half Wall DeLand

105 W Indiana Avenue

Beer lovers of all kinds love the Half Wall DeLand and we count ourselves among them. With an extensive selection of craft beers on tap (76 to be exact) and more than 100 bottled craft beers, along with an upscale bar menu that includes all of your favorites, The Half Wall is also a popular sports bar. With more than 23 TVs, and every sports package under the sun, it’s pretty much guaranteed that the game you’re looking to watch is on one of them.

DeLand: A Small Town with Big Time Flavors

DeLand may seem like any other small town at first glance, but a closer look reveals a surprisingly awesome restaurant scene considering its modest size. The streets are lined with historic buildings, some of which house restaurants and cafes that serve everything from gourmet farm-to-table meals to authentic international dishes. From sophisticated dining rooms serving expertly plated dishes to casual, family-friendly restaurants where comfort food reigns supreme, there’s something here to satisfy even the most discerning palate. Whether it’s a cozy breakfast spot serving the perfect cup of coffee and homemade pastries, or a local brewery pairing craft beers with bar bites, DeLand delivers big flavors for such a small town.
