Through the One Orlando Alliance, the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Plus) community of Central Florida has come together to form a coalition of over 40 service based organizations that provide LGBTQ+ specific programs to our community. Our coalition formed as a result of the Pulse nightclub tragedy on June 12, 2016.
Collectively, One Orlando Alliance member organizations are committed to ensuring that Central Florida serves as a model of nonprofits, businesses, foundations and government institutions, all working together to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all LGBTQ+ people. Our goal is to lower barriers, provide critical communication, and promote effective, influential, and sustainable opportunities for transforming the culture of the region.
Our strategy for achieving results focuses on the collaborative efforts of our greatest resource – the dynamic, committed, and capable nonprofit organizations who provide our LGBTQ+ community with essential services. The key to our success is simple – we are better together. As a united community, we focus on developing community-centric solutions to many of the challenges our member organizations have been working on for decades, in silos. We also work to bridge gaps in representation, particularly among our most marginalized community sectors.
We are grateful for your support and encourage you to join us in making Orlando a safer, happier, more inclusive community for all. Learn more about how and why the Alliance was formed at Our History.
