My Hollywood Pride is the result of our advocacy on behalf of the voices, perspectives and presence of LGBTQ+ residents in the Greater Hollywood area to build a more diverse and inclusive community. Founded in 2019 by Hollywood residents, the LGBTQ+ Council is proud to present the Inaugural My Hollywood Pride on January 22nd, 2022. In addition, a number of events leading up to My Hollywood Pride will celebrate the festival coming to Hollywood, and we want you to be a part of the celebration!
Since the Council’s launch, the City of Hollywood has been creating a buzz by demonstrating its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our Founder Joseph Young once said that “Hollywood will be a city for everyone” and the city is putting in the work necessary to ensure that that will be true. Companies have been using inclusive workplace policies to attract and retain the best talent for a long time, so it is only natural that a city like Hollywood can and will attract new companies, new investment and people that want to live, work and play in a diverse, open, and inclusive city. And research backs up this argument that communities don’t achieve prosperity and then choose to be open and diverse, instead they personify their commitment to diversity and inclusion in order to attract investment and new attention. And as it does, it will help drive the economic environment we’ve been building for some time.
The Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council is a 501(c)4 nonprofit as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of LGBTQ+ and ally members from the Greater Hollywood area
