Following a lifelong dream of opening a gallery to showcase his and other local artists’ works, Jim Woodfield opened Woodfield Fine Art Gallery in the Grand Central District of beautiful Saint Petersburg, Florida in November of 2015. The gallery bears Woodfield’s motto, “Pursuing a passion, realizing a dream.”
After working out of a small studio space in the Warehouse Arts District for two years, in November of 2015 Jim was able to open Woodfield Fine Art Gallery in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District. He maintains a small studio in the back of the gallery where he continues to produce portraits and other works of art.
Woodfield Fine Art Gallery has held true to its original intent to showcase only the original art of Tampa Bay area artists, where art enthusiasts can view and buy art that is not mass produced or tagged as collectible just because it has a number. The Gallery carries the works of both emerging as well as nationally renowned award winning artists. Most art media are represented. Paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media combine with photography, sculpture, ceramics, and glass works to provide a complete gallery experience.
Whether buying art as an investment, as a decorative accent to a home or business, or simply as an addition to a cherished collection, enthusiasts should always compare the cost and the value of original works of art as compared to so-called limited edition pieces that have been reproduced from an original. The affordable cost of owning an original work of art might surprise most people. Considering it from another perspective, who wants to pay a premium price for something that can be found as a print or lithograph in thousands of homes across the country, when beautiful one-of-a-kind works of art can be found for comparable prices?
Visit the gallery at 2253 Central Avenue, #105 in St. Petersburg. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 6, and until 9 every second Saturday of the month for Art Walk. You are sure to discover something remarkable.
