Event Details
Hollywood’s hiding a lot more in the closet than Tom Ford tuxedos, and megastar agent Jarrod Hilliard’s determined to keep it that way. When the corpse of a naked male prostitute is found in his client’s hotel room during the Golden Globe Awards, Hilliard and hotel manager Gage Holland are left to sweep things under the rug. Time to call in some favors… But when you work in the make-believe world of movies, everyone’s acting, and nothing’s what it seems in this hilarious jet-black comedy about what it means to be a “man” in Hollywood.

Event Details
Join us for the largest pride event in Jacksonville, FL. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!
Be entertained by the most talented vocalist, bands, and dance groups that Jacksonville has to offer at the Festival & Cabaret!
Our Vendors bring that something special that you can only get at the Jax River City Pride Festival. Become a Vendor today as spots are limited and go quickly.
Jax River City Pride has the most talented local entertainers that Northeast Florida has to offer. National Titleholders, Queens, Kings, and Female/Male Illusionists will put on a show like no other.

Welcome to “Parranda: A Celebration of Culture,” a captivating community band concert in the heart of Tampa, Florida. The Tampa Bay Pride band is composed of talented LGBTQ+ members, brings together the splendor of fine arts and the richness of diverse cultures.
In this extraordinary event, we joyously celebrate our identities and heritage through music, honoring the traditions that unite us all. As part of this vibrant experience, we proudly present “Huapango” by Jose Moncayo, one of Mexico’s most renowned marches. Through this iconic piece, we pay homage to the profound influence of Mexican culture on the world’s artistic landscape.
But what is “Parranda”? It’s not just a concert title, but a word that encapsulates the spirit of festivity and merry-making. Originating in Spanish-speaking countries, “Parranda” represents a joyful and lively gathering of friends and loved ones, coming together to revel in the magic of music, dance, and celebration.
Join us for an enchanting evening where the melodies of “Huapango” resonate with the diversity of Tampa’s culture, and the vibrant spirit of our LGBTQ+ community shines brightly. Let’s create memories, embrace unity, and honor the beauty of our shared heritage in this unforgettable “Parranda” experience.
The concert is at HCC Performing Arts Ybor City. Tickets are $12 pre-sale online, or $17 day of the concert online or at the door. Children 12 and under are free.

Love! Valour! Compassion! – Terrence McNally‘s most honored and celebrated play about eight gay friends who spend the holidays over one summer at one’s beautiful hundred-year-old house in upstate New York, kicks off Island City Stage’s 12th thrilling season. The show runs from October 12 – November 5.
At a lakeside summer vacation house in Dutchess County, two hours north of New York City, eight gay friends spend the three major holiday weekends of one summer together for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. The house belongs to Gregory, a successful Broadway choreographer now approaching middle age, who fears he is losing his creativity; and his twenty-something lover, Bobby, a legal assistant who is blind. Each of the guests at their house is connected to Gregory’s work in one way or another – Arthur and longtime partner Perry are business consultants; John Jeckyll, a sour Englishman, is a dance accompanist; die-hard musical theater fanatic Buzz Hauser is a costume designer and the most stereotypically gay man in the group. Only John’s summer lover, Ramon, and John’s twin brother James are outside the circle of friends. But Ramon is outgoing and eventually makes a place for himself in the group, and James is such a gentle soul that he is quickly welcomed.
Florida-born Terrence McNally is considered one of the most prolific and highly lauded playwrights, librettists and screenwriters in the last 50 years. His decades of works explored human relationships – frequently those of gay men. In addition to Love! Valour! Compassion!, McNally’s works include Bad Habits, The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, Masterclass, and Mothers and Sons, among many others. McNally’s librettos for Kiss of the Spider Woman and Ragtime won him Tony Awards in 1993 and 1998, respectively. Additional credits as a librettist included The Full Monty, Catch Me if You Can, and The Visit. He was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1996, and he also received the Dramatists Guild Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. In 2018, he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the highest recognition of artistic merit
in the United States. In 2019, he won a Lifetime Achievement Tony award. His other accolades included an Emmy Award, two Guggenheim Fellowships, a Rockefeller Grant, four Drama Desk Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, two Obie Awards, and three Hull-Warriner Awards.
The Love! Valour! Compassion!, ensemble cast features theatre veterans Chad Darnell, Robert Koutras, Bruce Linser, Saul Mendoza, Christoper Michaels, Matthew Salas, and Michael Scott Ross.
Love! Valour! Compassion! is directed by Michael Leeds and co-produced by Robert Korn and Alvaro Menendez. Set sponsor is Glenn Goldberg and Lighting Sponsor is Scott Bennett.
Island City Stage’s 12th Season will also feature Which Way to the Stage by Ana Nogueira (Jan. 18 – Feb. 11); Pulp by Patricia Kane; Music by Amy Warren & Andre Pluess with lyrics by Patricia Kane (Apr. 11 – May 5); Skintight by Joshua Harmon (May 30 – Jun. 23) and Die! Mommie Die! by Charles Busch (Aug. 29 – Sept. 22).
Tickets for Love! Valour! Compassion! start at $40. A Mimosa Sunday performance sponsored by Tedd Davis and Brad Sterl will be held on October 22 with tickets at $55. The show runs three hours with two intermissions.

“Chehantamo: How Are You?,” a new Seminole fine art exhibit will debut at History Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, October 22, prior to the start of Native American History Month (November). This collaboration with the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum will feature the perspective of contemporary Seminole artists through large scale digital works juxtaposed with historic artistic context.
Multidisciplinary photography, textiles, and more will provide a link to our shared future while acknowledging our shared past. The exhibit opens with a meet and greet at 2 p.m. on October 22 at the New River Inn History Museum and runs through January 6.
Curated by Tara Chadwick, “Chehantamo: How Are You?” will showcase mixed media, textiles, and digital art from multigenerational Seminole artists Nicholas DiCarlo, Danielle Nelson, Victoria Osceola, Samuel Tommie, Corinne Zepeda, and the late Elizabeth Buster.
Entry to the exhibit is free with general admission – $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 with a valid student ID). Admission is always free for members, military and children ages six and under. Tickets are available online at http://bit.ly/HistoryFortLauderdaleTickets.
History Fort Lauderdale is proud to host a variety of engaging multicultural experiences, year-round. It seeks to bring awareness to the community through both traveling exhibits and multiple permanent exhibits including “Women Trailblazers,” “Fort Lauderdale – the Early Years,” “The African American Experience,” “Fashion & Musical Theatre,” “From Dugouts to Dream Yachts: the story of boatbuilding along the New River,” Seminole Arts & Culture,” “New River Archaeology,” and, most recently, “Take PRIDE, a retrospective on LGBTQ life in South Florida.” The nonprofit museum also hosts an artists’ collective collaborative space.
“Chehantamo: How Are You?” is sponsored by the following funds at the Community Foundation of Broward: Jan and Ed Crocker Unrestricted Fund, Leo M. and Alice J. Rutten Fund and The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation Broward Community Fund. Additional funding is provided, in part, by Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward County Cultural Council, and Visit Lauderdale. Join us for an empowering screening of “You’re Loved”, a trans youth advocacy film!
Every day, trans+ youth suffer the devastating consequences of discrimination. These attacks increase rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation in trans youth. In 2022 alone, over 50% of trans+ youth considered suicide.
Join us to screen You’re Loved, a grassroots documentary highlighting trans+ youth, alongside mental health professionals and allies, as they tell their stories of resilience in an era of increasing injustice. This film inspires the positive action necessary to give trans kids hope – something they desperately need to survive.
After watching the film, you can participate in a Live Q&A with the filmmaker, Carys Mullins. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the event officially begins at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to all ages.
Pizza and beverages will be sold to enjoy during the screening. The proceeds will go to Humanity Rising, a nonprofit organization empowering youth to change the world.
This screening occurs in place of PFLAG Riverview’s monthly meeting on October 24, 2023. You do not need to be a PFLAG member to attend.
This film touches on topics that may be triggering to some viewers such as bullying, hate crime, racism, transphobia, and gender dysphoria. Please view responsibility. You will be able to step out if you feel uncomfortable.
This is a private event. Attendees who cause disruption or act in a discriminatory or disrespectful manner will not be permitted to attend the screening and will be asked to leave immediately.
Thank you to Humanity Rising and PFLAG Riverview for supporting this event!

Event Details
Love! Valour!

Event Details
Ronnie Larsen Presents in association with Plays of Wilton (POW!) is presenting a production of the musical “108 Waverly” with book and lyrics by the Carbonell award-winning Dan Clancy and music by Lynne Portas in November 2023. This clever and heartfelt musical about love and relationships over 70 years is being directed by Carbonell award-winning director, Bruce Linser. Two gay couples occupy the same apartment at the title’s location in Greenwich Village, New York City. The two couples never meet as they occupy the space seven decades apart.
Clancy’s narrative explores love and acceptance in consecutive lifetimes and delves into the impression that little has changed in attitudes regarding homosexuality in 70 years. The first couple is set in the 1920’s when society’s moral tolerances of love were much narrower. They summoned exposure with every glance and continually risked their careers, family and way of life just to be together. Set in the 1990s, the contemporary couple braves the waters of commitment and responsibility in the carefree cruisy world of the modern gay man. Tackling the real issues of their respective times there is pallet of social issues pertinent to gay people of all eras.
The stories are told in tandem on the same set and effectively portrayed with the creative use of lighting, props, and costumes. Lynn Portas has musically juxtaposed the two time periods by means of edgy, rockish musical themes against classic melodic styles. Coupled with the comprehensive writing style of Dan Clancy, 108 Waverly pops from the stage and gives its audience a unique insight of the distinctive lives of gay men on a broad scale. Subjects the piece explores range from remaining “closeted to survive” to gay adoption.
Plays of Wilton has received generous grants from the Broward County Cultural Division and Community Foundation of Broward to present this ground-breaking musical at The Foundry this Fall.
