There are many LGBT-friendly lodging options in Key West. Whether it’s for one night or an entire season, there are lots of gay welcoming options from which to choose. To help make your decision easier, we’ve compiled this list of gay friendly hotels, resorts, vacation rentals and RV accommodations in Key West.

All of the properties listed are LGBTQ friendly. Children are welcome unless otherwise noted. Pets are welcome at some, but not all. Be sure to ask any questions you have before making reservations.

Luxury Hotels in Key West

The Gardens Hotel in Key West is a romantic boutique hotel is a favorite of the LGBTQ community. It has a variety of room types to choose from including cottages and suites. Each features luxurious touches such as marble bathrooms, many with Jacuzzi tubs. Children 16 and over are welcome and must be in their adult’s room.

The famous LaTeDa is so much more than just a hotel! This historic 1892 guest house has only 15 luxurious rooms. It’s also known for its restaurant and bar. Their cabaret is home to one of the best drag shows in all of Florida! They are also known for their Sunday gay tea dance pool parties.

The Kimpton Key West is a collection of five luxurious boutique hotels throughout the island. Each offers posh amenities and daily happy hours. All of the Kimpton properties are pet friendly.

Winslow’s Bungalows offers 85 guest rooms in the midst of the historic district. There are three pools nestled in the tropical gardens. The outdoor pavilion is a great spot for a drink and snack.

Walking distance to many local landmarks, the 45 room Lighthouse Hotel, is a 19th century architectural gem. There are 8 suites available, many with private patios. Spend time at the pool with its bar and music, day, and night.

Visitors seeking elegance will enjoy Ridley House. Originally a private estate it offers a glimpse into historic Florida. The 23 spacious guest rooms and suites are designed to be romantic, with just a touch Key West funky. Meet your friends by the pool for a continental breakfast or an afternoon refresher.

Ella’s Cottages is an intimate retreat in the center of Old Town. It blends the charm of a cottage with the character of its colorful history for a unique experience. Relax on the front porch and watch the lively Key West scene go by. Enjoy a dip in their secluded pool. Stroll through the hidden gardens. The location is popular with groups and long-term guests.

Off the beaten path you’ll find the Fitch Lodge. Nestled in a neighborhood of early 19th century Conch homes, this Victorian oasis is a great place to relax. Enjoy time by the pool with its cascading waterfall.

Clothing Optional Resorts in Key West

Island House Resort for Men is located on the gay “Guesthouse Row” in Old Town. It’s the longest-owned and operated gay men’s resort in the world. Accommodations range from compact rooms with shared baths to deluxe rooms with private baths. They also have 1- and 2-bedroom luxury apartments with private entrances and dedicated parking. Guests can enjoy the indoor/outdoor hot tubs, heated lap pool, a fully equipped health club. Unique features include an erotic video lounge and free all-male adult movies. Start your evenings with a free happy hour each day. And to make life simple, this is a cashless hotel.

The New Orleans House Bed & Breakfast is Key West’s only all-male gay guesthouse located on Duval Street. They offer a variety of room types. The most unique is the dog-friendly cottage house with its own private heated pool and lush garden. This B&B also has an outdoor pool, and 15-man Jacuzzi, gym. Enjoy complimentary continental breakfasts and daily happy hour. Guests receive free access to the Bourbon Street Pub & drag shows at 801 Bourbon.

Alexander’s Guest House is gay-owned and operated. It’s a unique location that is open to men and women and is welcoming to everyone 21 one and over, including straight friends. Rooms are tastefully designed to blend history with modern conveniences. In addition, your stay will include an expanded continental breakfast and a daily poolside Happy Hour. Guests can enjoy 24-hour swimming in the pool or a soak in the jacuzzi. It’s also lovely venue for weddings or other events.

Equator Resort is another clothing-optional, all male private resort.  This historic compound combines five original Conch style homes. No two rooms are alike.  Many have balconies, some have pool or island views. All rooms have a refrigerator and microwave, Direct TV and 11 Complimentary gay porn channels. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and happy hour, which you can enjoy by one of the two swimming pools. For the ultimate in relaxation schedule a session with one of the male massage therapists.

Where to Stay on a Budget in Key West

If you love the idea of a luxurious hotel, but your wallet doesn’t, there are plenty of locations to choose from. Many of them have accommodations available for under $200 per night.

Seashell Motel & Key West Hostel is a unique place to stay. Part of it is a small, quiet hotel offering rooms with 1 or 2 doubles beds and private baths with showers, most for under $200 per night. The other part is a hostel, where the rooms have bunkbeds in rooms for up to 10 people. They offer co-ed or same-sex rooms. Hostel rooms have shared baths. Bedding and towels are supplied. Both parts of the guest house allow access to a common kitchen, laundry, and lockers. No alcohol is permitted on this property. Guests must be at least 19 years old, even if accompanied by an adult.

Key West Bed and Breakfasts

If you prefer someplace a little more intimate while staying in Key West, try a charming bed and breakfasts. In addition to the ones we’ve listed, check out Mister B&B which offers a directory of guest houses specifically for the LGBTQ community. You can find a gay host and other gay locals in the area you’re visiting to make the most of the social scene. Mister B&B lists locations around the world, including many in the Keys.

At The Mermaid & The Alligator, it’s the little things that matter. This restored 1904 Victorian home in Old Town has nine luxurious rooms. You’ll enjoy a complimentary breakfast served poolside. End your day of exploration with complimentary wine and cheese happy hour. The kitchen is open all day for complimentary bottled water, sodas, and coffee.

Marrero’s Guest Mansion is an Old Town gem. This adult only guest house was built in 1889. Located just a half block from Duval Street guests have easy access to entertainment and attractions. The 13 rooms offer pillow top mattresses, individual air conditioning units, TVs, fridges, and WiFi. Go for a swim any time in the 24-hour heated saltwater pool. Guests receive complimentary expanded continental breakfast, and a wine & beer happy hour on the large front porch.

Ambrosia Tropical Lodging is a compound of three guest houses nestled in the heart of Old Town. All accommodations include private entrances that open onto a porch, veranda, or patio. Enjoy a delicious island breakfast served poolside each morning. Then let the concierge staff help you plan your activities for the day.

Property Rentals

If you’d prefer a rental property, whether for a short-term or long-term stay, visit Historic Hideaways. They specialize in weekly, monthly, and seasonal rentals. However, they also list some that are available as little as two nights. They have a variety of properties. Most have private pools. Many are pet friendly.

RV Parks and Campgrounds

Looking to spend time in the great outdoors, or perhaps, do a little “glamping”? Consider one of these LGBTQ-welcoming RV parks or campgrounds in Key West.

Leo’s Campground offers easy access to the rest of Key West. The campground has its own stop for the local Key West bus. This park can accommodate RV’s up to 42′. Sites include a picnic table and full hookups (30/50 amp). There are also nine tent sites available, four with electricity. The whole family, including fur babies, are welcome here. Enjoy the evening at one of five Tiki Huts. Make dinner on one the grills. When it’s time to explore, there’s bus stop at the campground where you can catch the local bus that runs between Key West and Marathon Key.

Boyd’s Key West Campground, is a large campground with a variety of sites, ranging from primitive tenting to full hook-up. Many are on the water or have water views. Sites can accommodate date up to 45′ and have cable TV, picnic tables, and 30/50 amp electric. Tent sites are available with or without electricity. Enjoy time in the pool and the patio area with a tiki hut, poolside dining, and a large-screen TV. A small marina offers docking and kayak/paddle board rentals. Stop by the camp store for essentials. There’s also a bathhouse, laundry, and game room. Propane delivery and dump station are available at an additional cost.
