The Bilmar Beach Cafe and Patio, and Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach, are often gathering spots where you can find guests playing the resort’s beach games alongside St Petersburg, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach and Reddington Beach area residents and snowbirds.

One of the most popular attractions of the hotel is live music in a beach setting. Every month, the Bilmar features a variety of musical performances. They have popular bands such as the Dixie Land Jazz Band, Elly and Company, and Ray Boucher.

Other popular events in this hotel in St. Pete include beach volleyball competitions and various fundraisers. From August to December, the hotel hosts a weekly trivia night. Every Thursday night, participants test their knowledge and fight for bragging rights at Big Brains Trivia.

Every November, on the weekend before Thanksgiving, the Bilmar sponsors one of the most iconic festivals in the state – Treasure Island’s Master Cup Sand Sculpting Competition and Music Festival, Sanding Ovations. A four day competition of ten sand sculpting masters from throughout North America, Europe and Asia, astonishing works of art are created behind the Bilmar property using nothing but sand, water and lots of imagination. Sanding Ovations is a free event and brings in visitors locally, nationally and worldwide.

If there’s a holiday, you can count on the Bilmar to throw a party. In 2019, the hotel in St. Pete had a Halloween party, New Year’s Eve party, and an Easter brunch. The resort recently hosted a Super Bowl party. This weekend, the hotel continues that trend with a Valentine’s Day dinner special at the Bilmar Beach Cafe. The venue will serve a four course meal for $49 per person. In addition to getting great food, you’ll also be given live entertainment and complimentary valet parking. Next month, the property will host a St Patrick’s Day event.
