Share the Love

Every season is the season of giving. Find out about the most important fundraisers in the Space Coast and make a difference in the world.

Dining Out for Life

Believe it or not, you can give back to the community without attending a special event or giving something for nothing. When you participate in Dining Out for Life in Melbourne, you can eat at a local restaurant and some of the proceeds from your meal will go towards a charity.

There are several local restaurants involved in this fundraiser. For instance, Euro Kafe Etcetera will donate 33% of their dinner sales to charity. Off The Traxx and Time Square Diner will both be donating 25% of their breakfast, lunch, and dinner sales to charity.

The money from this Space Coast fundraiser will go towards Project Response, Inc. In 1990, the organization was established to assist people who were living with HIV/AIDs. Today, it’s a lifeline for the Space Coast community and a testing and educational resource. By 2017, the organization expanded to offer services to all of Brevard County.

By attending this fundraiser, you can check out some of Central East Florida’s best restaurants. You can also support those who are struggling with HIV/AIDs and work towards stopping the spread.

Rainbow Run 5K

There’s a lot of pride in the Space Coast, and Pride Week is always a good time. Before all of the festivities begin, there’s an exciting fundraiser that you might want to join. The Rainbow Run 5K is an annual fundraiser that kicks off Space Coast Pride. Every year, it takes place in Melbourne.

The run is a 5K that’s open to anyone.During the fundraiser, there’s entertainment, vendors, and much more. Participants are encouraged to show up wearing rainbow outfits, and the participants with the best outfits will be awarded prizes. If you’re competitive, you have a chance at winning an award for best time.

When you participate, you receive a free tee shirt, drawstring backpack, and other swag. You also get to enjoy the post-race block party.

This run raises money for Space Coast Pride. To give back even more, you can buy a participant medal.

Red Ribbon Gala

Sponsored by DeLand Pride, the Red Ribbon Gala is an annual fundraiser that collects money for the testing, prevention, and treatment of HIV and AIDS. The event is only one of several fundraisers organized by DeLand Pride with the intention of helping the Volusia County community.

The Gala is an elegant event that attracts individuals from all over Volusia County. Like most galas, this one features entertainment, food, and a positive atmosphere. When you buy tickets to this event, you’re showing your support for those who are battling with HIV and AIDS.

World AIDS Day Gala

For food, drinks, entertainment, and giving, head to the World AIDS Day Gala. The proceeds from this event go towards DeLand Pride and Rising Against All Odds. While DeLand Pride focuses on enriching the lives of the LGBTQ community in Volusia County, Rising Against All Odds promotes health and disease prevention.

This exciting evening is a reminder that AIDS is still a problem. Although the annual event only started in 2019, it was well-attended. There were drag queens, music, and a silent auction. Everyone who purchased a ticket received entry to the event, a signature drink, hors d’oeuvres, and tea or water.

Friends of the Poor 5K Fundraiser Walk

For over four years, the Friends of the Poor 5K has been raising money for those in need. The event started as a national walk to collect donations for  the St. Vincent de Paul Conference. Now, there are local events held throughout the country.

Every year, this walk takes place in Palm Bay. It begins at the St. Vincent de Paul House and loops around local neighborhoods. In addition to raising money for the cause, the event also raises awareness about homelessness in the community.

After the walk, there is usually a raffle followed by some activities. Typically held during the holiday season, this fundraiser often gets participants in the holiday spirit. You can donate to the charity by purchasing tickets for the walk, purchasing a tee shirt, or buying raffle tickets.

Love Our Lagoon Bowl-A-Thon

Although the Love Our Lagoon Bowl-A-Thon is a new fundraiser, it’s sure to become one of the most important fundraisers in Central East Florida. The event is a collaboration of many Palm Bay organizations, all of which come together to raise money for the Marine Resources Council plan to save the Indian River Lagoon.

If you get tickets for the event, you receive three hours of bowling and shoe rental. But there’s more than just bowling. During the event, there’s a silent auction, prize giveaways, and more. Lucky or talented bowlers will receive prizes for their efforts.

While at the fundraiser, you can learn more about the efforts to save the lagoon. There are scientists, educators, and advocates who attend to speak up about the lagoon’s current state.

Before the event, participants are encouraged to obtain pledges from family and friends. T-shirts are available for sale as well. Even if you’re not a competitive bowler, you can enjoy this event.

Tuxes & Tails’ Gala

Although the Brevard County Humane Society has many fundraisers, few are as enticing as the Tuxes and Tails Gala. The annual event has been taking place for more than eight years.

In the past, the event has taken place at the Space Coast Convention Center. It’s the epitome of elegance and brings together community leaders and others who want to show their support for the humane society.

Typically, the event attracts over 350 people. There’s a live auction, a silent auction, and a VIP lounge. To keep guests entertained, there are plenty of live performances and entertainers.

One of the highlights of the event is a delicious buffet meal. Due to its popularity, the fundraiser often sells out of tickets. You should purchase your tickets in advance.

The Brevard County Humane Society helps more than 1,500 animals each year. Give back to those animals and the organization by attending this fundraiser.
