St. Petersburg is the latest LGBTQ+ hotspot, according to Andrew Collins’s recent article for OUT Magazine. The popular LGBTQ+ publication lauded St. Pete’s sunny beaches, electric nightlife, and, of course, its Pride celebration–which is coming up at the end of this month.

St. Pete’s annual Pride event attracts over 250,000 attendees, making it Florida’s largest Pride celebration. Consisting of an entire weekend full of exciting events, St. Pete Pride traditionall kicks off with a benefit concert on Saturday night. The central event is Saturday’s Pride Parade, which brings the beachfront Pride Party to a close and is the only nighttime Pride Parade in the state. The same evening also features the TransPride March. On Sunday, the festivities end with the St. Pete Pride Festival Street Fest. This year, St. Pete Pride will be held from June 22 to June 24th.

For a gay time year-round, visitors can explore St. Petersburg’s vibrant LGBTQ+ nightlife. From the trendy gay dance club Enigma to the LGBTQ+ resort The Flamingo, everyone is sure to find something that suits their fancy. You can find great food at Queenshead Euro Bar and Restaurant, or savor a cocktail at the Reading Room.

For those more naturally inclined, St. Pete has a wide variety of beaches to offer–adding up to around 35 miles in total. Some beaches, like the Sunset Beach on Treasure Island, have become known for the number of LGBTQ+ individuals who frequent them.

No matter your tastes, St. Petersburg clearly has a lot to offer, and we’re glad to see publications like OUT Magazine taking note.
