Sun Outdoors Sugarloaf Key RV

Share the Love

Hello RV and glamping enthusiasts! Are you craving an unforgettable LGBTQ+ friendly getaway to the Florida Keys but are looking for options outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Key West? Then we recommend exploring the beautiful Sun Outdoors resort in Sugarloaf Key, Florida.

Nestled in the heart of the Florida Keys, this resort is not just about enjoying creature comforts in a tropical oasis, but it’s also about basking in a welcoming environment.

Sun Outdoors is an LGBTQ+ friendly resort that welcomes travelers from all walks of life with open arms. This stunning waterfront property offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and a welcoming atmosphere for all travelers. It’s pet-friendly too!

In this comprehensive travel guide, we’ll take you through everything you need to know to make the most of your stay at Sun Outdoors Sugarloaf Key.

Resort Layout and Accommodations

Sun Outdoors offers a variety of accommodation options to suit your preferences. Whether you’re looking for a furnished cozy cabin or a waterfront RV site, this resort has it all. Guests can enjoy modern comforts in a picturesque setting, surrounded by the beauty of the Florida Keys.

RV Sites

The RV sites at Sun Outdoors Sugarloaf Key offer a premium outdoor experience. Each site is meticulously designed to accommodate RVs of various sizes, featuring full hookups including water, sewer, electricity, wifi and cable.

While the RV lots are close in proximity to one another, the sites are thoughtfully integrated into the natural landscape, ensuring as much privacy and tranquility as possible. Most of the RV lots are parked waterside and offer picture perfect sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico or sunrises over the lake.

All of the RV sites have a picnic table and seating area while others have a tiki hut cabana for added shade and outdoor living space. We highly recommend getting a cabana spot if you’re visiting in the summer months. It’s the perfect place to sip coffee in the morning while catching up on the news or to savor the flavor of fine wine while watching the sunset.

Just don’t forget the bug spray! While the views are serene, the mosquitoes and no-see-ums at night may ruin your enjoyable experience. So just come prepared.

Bungalows

If you aren’t an avid RVer and prefer to truly relax on vacation, check out the furnished bungalows. These colorful accommodations are cozy in size but comfortable in layout. With sleeping for up to four, each unit provides the basic necessities with an elevated luxury feel.

Amenities include patio seating, a Smart TV, Wi-Fi, microwave, mini-fridge, and a Keurig coffee maker. Smoking is not allowed inside the bungalows, and bed and bath linens are provided.

Our favorite unit is the corner lot with easy water access for kayaking and sunset views.

Amenities Galore

Prepare to be spoiled for choice with the impressive array of amenities at Sun Outdoors.

Recreational Delights

Sun Outdoors Sugarloaf Key stands out for its array of recreational facilities. The heated swimming pool, AquaBanas, giant tiki bar with firepit, hammocks, and waterside tiki cabanas with cornhole games offer relaxed settings for guests to socialize with friends either in the sun or under shade.

The dog park is a thoughtful addition for pet lovers, ensuring that furry companions also have a memorable time.

Surrounding the lake is a well-maintained walking trail, perfect for getting your steps in or exercising Fido.
