Our Favorite Vegan-Friendly And Vegan Restaurants In Jacksonville, Florida

Looking for the best vegan food in Jacksonville, FL? Give these vegan-friendly spots a visit and see for yourself why they’re so popular with the local vegan community!

The Murray Hillbilly

1044 Edgewood Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205

If you’re a vegan in Jacksonville with a hankering for Southern comfort, this is your spot! Previously feted as a popular food truck, the award-winning Murray Hillbilly is known in the area as one of the best Jacksonville vegan restaurants.

Dig into its plant-based versions of familiar dishes like burgers and mac bowls. The real Murray Hill menu highlight is the Git ‘Er Done burger with vegan bacon, cheese, and patty. Plus, apart from its delicious vegan items like cauliflower nuggets and hush puppies, there are also gluten-free options. Bonus: the veggies are organic too!

Southern Roots Filling Station

1275 King St, Jacksonville, FL 32204

Enjoy baked goods, delicious coffee, and yummy vegan options in just one place! Southern Roots’ IG-worthy interiors and gluten-free vegan menu make it a firm favorite amongst Jacksonville natives.

Here, you can treat yourself to breakfast favorites like everything bagels, vegan cheesy biscuits with sausage, and granola. But if you want to try something different, we highly recommend the Thai Peanut Bowl, which combines tofu egg salad, peanut sauce, sprouts, avocado, and sriracha. Pair this with one of its artisanal lattes or the cold brew for a light but filling meal.

Sweet Theory Baking Co.

1243 King St, Jacksonville, FL 32204

Who says vegans can’t indulge? Sweet Theory serves yummy vegan treats sure to satisfy your dessert craving, like cookie sandwiches, cupcakes, and doughnuts. Best of all, these incredible goodies are egg, dairy, soy, and peanut-free. The bakery also has great savory items – loyal customers swear by the biscuits made with white bean sausage. Come early though, as the bakery sells out fast!

If you’re feeling a sugar rush from biting into one of its fluffy cupcakes, fret not: it uses organic agave nectar and whole cane sugar to sweeten your day. Don’t forget to try the coffee, Italian sodas, or the vegan Brooklyn Egg cream soda with your order.

Vegan Cafe Jax

Pharmacy entrance of eMed Multispecialty Group, 2624 Atlantic Blvd #3, Jacksonville, FL 32207

One of the newest vegan options on the block, Vegan Cafe Jax was founded by Jacksonville brother-and-sister team Chef Mat Bardroff and Jenna Bardroff just last year. Its main menu features simple, healthier eating options full of flavor, like sandwiches, bowls, wraps, and vegan desserts.

Try the El Vegano bowl or wrap, a gluten-free menu choice made with stewed black beans and pico de gallo. It also has rotating sides and pastries and offers specials if the Bardroffs are feeling creative, so keep an eye out for what’s on the menu. We still have dreams about the truffle mac ‘n’ cheese and the key lime pie!

True Food Kitchen

5205 Big Island Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32246

True Food Kitchen‘s main menu is built around fresh, high-quality seasonal ingredients, so count on its offerings to change with the seasons. While there are many meat dishes on the main menu, there’s also a wide variety of vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan food to choose from. Keep in mind that the restaurant serves brunch only on the weekends.

The Korean Noodle Bowl, made with pickled shiitake and organic spinach, is a popular choice even with non-vegans. Start with one of its healthy salads, then sip on a handcrafted cocktail to cap off your lunch or dinner. For teetotalers, it also offers unique refreshers like sea buckthorn shots and passionfruit limeade!

One Foxy Lady Cafe

1837 N Pearl St, Jacksonville, FL 32206

Not every restaurant knows how to do vegan comfort food right, but people swear by One Foxy Lady Cafe‘s vegan menu! Shandon Benjamin-Fox’s non-traditional takes on Southern favorites include bourbon BBQ jackfruit and vegan hot dogs made from carrots.

Try the Supreme Vixen Salad made with air-fried jackfruit, or dig into the Sexy As Hell Fox sandwich made with mushrooms and vegan cheese. The restaurant also offers special refreshments like Foxy Punch and Dirty Lemonade, but we’re big fans of the lavender lemonade – get it if it’s offered that day!

Community Loaves Jax

1116 Edgewood Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205

Founded in 2012, Community Loaves Jax has grown from a wholesale bakery to a cafe that serves healthy baked goods, coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Community Loaves’ main menu offers both vegan and vegetarian options made with locally sourced ingredients.

Try the white bean hummus and avocado sandwich, salads, pizza, or veggie soup loaded with hearty lentils. Tip: ask your server if a vegetarian dish can be turned into a vegan one. They’re quite happy to offer vegan substitutes for ingredients in standard dishes or specials of the day!

Vale Food Co.

90 Riverside Ave #603, Jacksonville, FL 32202

Fast food need not be unhealthy or full of meat! This fast-casual restaurant and juice bar serves a vast array of vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options that’ll leave you spoiled for choice. Try one of Vale Food Co.‘s poke bowls for lunch, or build your own acai bowl for dessert.

Its smoothie selections are the perfect beverage to wash down your meal. If you’re not sure which one to get from the juice bar, we recommend the best-selling Dr. Vale Smoothie. Packed with mango, kale, pineapple, ginger, and strawberry, it’s the perfect pick-me-up to jumpstart your day.

Nacho Taco

751 Stockton St, Jacksonville, FL 32204

Sometimes you just want to indulge in comforting tacos, burritos, and nachos. While Nacho Taco does serve meat options, it has a delicious array of vegan options on its main menu. Choose from grilled vegetables, vegan chicken, vegan beef, and vegan chorizo for your taco or burrito fillings! You can also opt to swap the regular dairy for vegan cheese and vegan sour cream.

It offers vegan dessert choices, so you can end your meal on a sweet note with its crunchy sopapillas or vegan cream cheese and strawberry chimichangas. You can wash all of this down with soda, but we suggest giving the Nacho Taco yerba mate a go – choose from traditional, mint, raspberry, or pasion!

Sushiko

3620 St Johns Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32205

We’ve heard of Japanese restaurants offering a couple of vegan sushi options, but have you ever gone to one with a whole vegan menu? Sushiko has a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes that don’t skimp on flavor. Order the Stuffed Shiitake or Agedashi Tofu to start, then try the Jade Roll made with tempura vegan shrimp, cucumber, and mango.

Can’t choose which vegan sushi to eat? Get the Vegan Love Boat! Good for two people, this special order includes two rolls of your choice from the main menu, as well as vegan sashimi and sushi. Now that’s a vegan-friendly feast!

Al’s Pizza

1620 Margaret St. Jacksonville, FL 32004

Looking for vegan pizza in Jacksonville, FL? Check out Al’s Pizza. While this restaurant offers pizzas topped with meat and fresh mozzarella, we’ve included it on this list because of its vegan toppings.

Take a bite of the vegan calzones, or try the hand-tossed Vegan Deluxe pizza loaded with vegan pepperoni, sausage, and cheese. You can also create your own vegan pizza with premium ingredients like Kalamata olives, pesto sauce, and artichokes. Because of the option to customize your pizza, it’s a great place for vegan eaters to dine with both vegetarian and omnivore friends!

Mo V’s Kitchen

1827 N Pearl St, Jacksonville, FL 32206

Located inside The Cookbook Restaurant, Mo V’s Kitchen updates its menu and operating hours daily. It offers vegan breakfast, dinner, and desserts that even non-veggies love to eat.

Give its famous collard green soul rolls and waffle fries a try, but the Forty Two is our personal favorite. Made in honor of Jackie Robinson and Chadwick Boseman, its combo of vegan sausage, slaw, and chili is irresistible. Those looking for something lighter can eat the taco salad made with smoked walnut meat or the chickpea chicken salad.

Juice Tap

14965 Old St Augustine Rd #104, Jacksonville, FL 32258

Start the day on a healthy note at this juice bar! Juice Tap serves refreshing juices, shots, and smoothies made with fruits and veg. Its fresh juices have playful names like Popeye The Sailor (spinach, kale, pineapple) and Beethoven (apple, beet, celery).

If you want to have a light snack, Juice Tap has tasty toast, bowl, and salad choices. Go with the crowd-pleasing chia flax pudding bowl, or try the Mediterranean toast seasoned with house-made za’atar. If you’re still recovering from last night’s happy hour, we strongly recommend the ginger or carrot-turmeric shots to put some pep in your step!
