Share the Love

Whether you’re a gym rat or just discovering the right way to hold a kettlebell, you probably want to workout in a warm and welcoming environment. Finding a great LGBTQ gym isn’t always easy, and you may need to try out a few gyms before you find the right fit. The next time you’re eager to exercise, check out one of the top LGBTQ gyms in Florida and get your sweat on.

The Body Electric

Whether you live in St. Petersburg or you’re just visiting, it’s worth checking out this hyper-inclusive gym. They have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry and have recently made an effort to improve diversity among the staff. Furthermore, they have partnerships with inclusive organizations and donate to charity.

This gym offers fitness classes, which include yoga. As far as the environment goes, it’s one of the most supportive gyms you can find. There’s a true community spirit, and that’s what makes working out here so special.

Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym

Located in Jacksonville, this gym is ideal for those who want a gym with classes and personal training. It’s a chain gym, but that doesn’t mean the staff isn’t friendly or welcoming. The gym has free weights, machines, and plenty of space. Because it’s open 24/7, Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym makes it impossible to come up with excuses to not workout.

Although this gym doesn’t raise a rainbow flag, it is a place where many of the local LGBTQ community choose to workout. It’s a judgment-free zone and one you might enjoy visiting.

Island City Health and Fitness

Out of all the LGBTQ gyms in Florida, Island City Health and Fitness may have the largest group of LGBTQ members. The venue is located in Wilton Manors, home to streets of gay-owned businesses. In addition to having a gay owner, this gym also has a lot to offer. There’s a spa and wellness center, both of which help you maintain a positive mindset as you exercise.

With a focus on being friendly, the staff at Island City makes everyone feel right at home. In fact, the gym has a reputation for its friendliness and cleanliness. The memberships are affordable, and the establishment has all the amenities you could want.

The Island House Key West

There’s nothing about Key West that’s understated. And the Island House Key West keeps with that trend. As a resort-style club, the Island House is an upscale establishment with the latest equipment and highly qualified technicians. After a workout, you might enjoy a soak in the jacuzzi or sessions in the steam room.

It’s important to note that the Island House is a men-only resort. If you want to experience more than the gym, book a stay at the resort. Be ready for some clothing-optional activities, and the true Key West experience.

Club Aqua Miami

Also a men’s club, Club Aqua Miami is a gym, sauna, and play area for gay men. It’s in Downtown Miami, which means you can cruise the city before or after you head to the gym. The club itself has quite a lot to offer, including a steam room, pool, and much more.

To use the gym, you need to have a club membership. But, if you’re visiting, you can buy a one-time weekend membership. The club is open 24/7 for fun throughout the night and day.

Zoo Health Club

Owned by a lesbian couple, Zoo Health Club is a 24 hour gym in Lake Worth. It has high-tech equipment of all types, as well as all the basics. If you’re a CrossFit fan, you can enjoy the battle ropes and jump boxes. For six years in a row, the establishment won West Palm Beach gym of the year.

Everyone is welcome at this facility. Regardless of your fitness level, you will fit in and enjoy the inclusivity. The environment is clean, fun, and supportive.

CrossFit Iron Shamrock

Located in Winter Park, CrossFit Iron Shamrock is a growing gym that embraces a community environment. While it’s not exclusively for LGBTQ individuals, the gym has a diverse clientele and embraces all lifestyles.

If you’ve ever been to a CrossFit gym, you may have felt overwhelmed. This facility tones it down and is very welcoming of beginners. Whatever your fitness level, you can enjoy a class.
