We’ve got you covered from breakfast to dessert. Most people think of seafood when traveling to the Keys but there are so many tasty options. This area is a foodies paradise. Of course, we’ll highlight a few LGBTQ-owned favorites as well.

Breakfast/Brunch

If you want breakfast or brunch in a place with a noteworthy reputation, we’ve got just what you are looking for. You will find your choice of classic and modern spots to choose from.

For a more traditional experience, stop by Harriette’s Restaurant in Key Largo. This legendary restaurant has a family feel. Locals love Harriette’s but visitors come from all over the world make it a point to stop in. Try the corned beef hash and egg with a homemade biscuit or toast and hashbrowns or grits. If what you prefer is a more metropolitan vibe, Ocean Grill & Bar in Key West is the place to be. Dine inside or out and try the jumbo shrimp and grits or the bagel with Norwegian smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Brunch ala Entertainment

Would you like a little entertainment with your brunch time meal? Then check out Boondocks Grille and Draft House and Miniature Golf in Ramrod Key. Not only does this fan-favorite serve up tasty eats but they certainly know how to entertain. Enjoy live music, miniature golf, and special events. Stop in for brunch and enjoy the Bahamian conch fritters with red peppers and special seasonings.

Sundowners in Key Largo is a great place to enjoy a meal and live entertainment. Be sure to try the lobster benedict, it is amazing. The thick-cut Hawaiian french toast is another winner. Live entertainment and great drink specials make this place a real treat.

Classy Fare

Breakfast with style will start your day off right. Some of the best locations for a classy breakfast have the upscale aesthetic down to a science. Enjoy your favorite breakfast foods prepared with elegance.

For some fine breakfast dining, check out The Dining Room in Little Torch Key, FL. You will feel like royalty while indulging in the delicious Stone Crab Benedict or an omelet made your way with breakfast potatoes and toast.

Lunch

For lunch, what’s better than a sandwich? Try Bagel Island Sandwich Shoppe in Big Pine Key. This lunch stop has it all from their Italian 6 to their Bella Dawna Panini. The cookies and cream frozen Coolada is a must-try. Also, before you leave, grab a chocolate croissant for later. You won’t regret it.

Who doesn’t love a good Reuben? If you are among those that do, you will love Marathon’s Keys Fisheries‘ Lobster Reuben.

Two sandwich spots that visitors love are the Pilot House Marina in Key Largo and Hogfish Bar & Grill in Stock Island. You can find delicious seafood options at either of these. Fresh from the ocean favorites are the Harvey Fish Sandwich from Pilot House Marina and Royal Red Shrimp Roll from Hogfish Bar and Grill. 

Although they can be broiled, grilled, or baked, blackened makes the flavor come alive. When fish is blackened, it is coated in a mixture of spices and herbs that give it a spicy kick. It is then pan-seared to infuse the seasonings into the filet. The outside is browned and crisped to perfection. The inside is a flavorful dream.

Happy Hour

You will not be hard-pressed to find a place for a cocktail on any of the islands. If you are in the mood for something special try Angler & Ale in Duck Key, FL. If you are looking for good drinks and a deal try Tavern N’ Town for their two for one drinks and tapas specials.

Breezer’s Tiki Bar has a happening happy hour. They feature live entertainment and friendly staff. If you’re the beer and wings type, check out Sharky’s Beer Co. in Key Largo.

Dinner

There are tons of places to choose from for a great dinner. Where you decide to go will depend on your mood. Do you want a family atmosphere, live entertainment, or something romantic and upscale? The area has a laid back vibe, however, there are perfect dining experiences to be had, from relaxed to formal.

If you are looking for an upscale experience, Sol by the Sea in Key Largo for the freshest locally sourced ingredients. The food is delicious, the view is amazing, and the service is exceptional. Enjoy waterfront dining and have your senses dazzled with Key Largo’s coastal cuisine. The restaurant is located at Playa Largo Resort & Spa. Sol by the Sea and the resorts other eateries offer spectacular and seductive entrees and experiences.

In Key West, try Latitudes and have your mind blown. With a long list of accolades, it is one of the highest-ranked restaurants in The Keys. Be sure to start with the lobster bisque. It is life-changing. Executive Chef, Ron Duprat, was a contestant on Top Chef Las Vegas.

Don’t miss out on the Key West Pink Shrimp Carbonara with tagliatelle pasta, egg, lamb bacon, and parmesan.

Waterside

It’s reasonable to think of seafood when the Keys come to mind. As well, it should. For an otherworldly meal and a great view, check out Lorelei Restaurant and Cabana Bar in Islamorada. The amazing views make this a not to miss location for a great dining experience. Start with the Sunset Conch Fritters and try the Thai style Mahi fingers. Be sure to finish your meal off with Lorelei’s world-famous frozen key lime pie. It is a mouthful of wonderful and a favorite menu item.

If you want to eat with your toes in the sand don’t miss KiKi’s Sandbar and Grill in Little Torch Key. Not only does this place have fresh homemade seafood and a full bar, but you can even bring in your, own, catch and have the chef prepare it for you.

They feature live music with great local talent For a water view with a little less sand you can dine inside. Everything on the menu is divine. Try the delicious smoked fish dip.

Cultural Cuisine

If taking trips through culinary experiences is your thing, you are in for a treat when you visit the Florida Keys. You’ll find everything your tastebuds love with delicious flavors from almost anywhere in the world. Enjoy perfectly prepared American Surf and Turf favorites such as steak and oysters from Prime Steakhouse. Japanese eatery, Ambrosia has immaculately prepared Lobster and sushi. The menu is literally, a feast to behold.

Enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine in Key West at Santiago’s Bodega. Craving more tapas? Check out the Paradise Restaurant. Their Lomo Saltado is incredibly tasty. If you are in search of small bits head to Little Pearl. They offer a great variety of ceviches and other yummy bites.

Romantic

The Keys islands offer the perfect backdrop for unforgettable romance. If you want to really wow your partner, slip into Pierre’s Restaurant in the heart of Islamorada. They’ll enjoy an elegant dining experience they’ll never forget. This beautiful gem features french fusion cuisine influenced by the region. The immaculate plantation-style house is situated facing the Florida Bay. Inside, it is filled with rich cultural influences from all over the world. Enjoy a delicious meal in the upstairs dining room and cocktails on the veranda. Pierre’s Restaurant epitomizes romance.

If you are visiting the Keys for romance, make your reservations, dip in, and try the Fennel & Coriander Crusted Yellowfin Tuna. This succulent dish is served with creamer potatoes and heirloom tomatoes.

Sweet Savannah’s of Marathon is a phenomenal Florida Keys pick. They have received the award for Best Key Lime Pie for seven years and counting.

Last but certainly not least make your way to CupCake Sushi in Key West. Try the Chocolate Almond for a real treat. This sweet spot features bite-sized cakes that resemble some of your favorite sushi rolls.
